Mazamba Youth Hockey Tournament Series Registration Information
Please note - Registration is on a first come, first serve basis
To be eligible to participate in the Mazamba Youth Hockey Tournament Series, each player must meet the following criteria:
Player Qualifications:
1. Players can only play for their Home State Team, “this does not apply to multi-state regional teams”.
2. Player selected by their State Team must have gone through the tryout selection process
3. Players must try out for their own age group
4. Each state may only field one team per division per skill level
5. All players must be registered and in good standing with USA Hockey
6. USA Hockey cards and birth certificates must be presented at the tryouts (copies need to be given to team manager)
7. All players under the age of 16 must be accompanied by a parent or guardian.
8. All players under the age of 18 must receive parental permission to participate in Tryouts and on the Select Teams.
Tryout Registration Fees:
1. Early Registration: $60 per player ends December 12, 2009.
2. Late Registration: $90 per player ends January 20, 2010.
Each player will receive a special, pro-level, numbered tryout practice jersey to have as a keepsake from the tryouts.
Maximums per State/Region:
Due to the size and nature of this tournament, we will be limiting participants, in each market, to 400 per division for boys, and 120 per division for girls. Remember to take advantage of early registration to secure your tryout slot.
State Team Fees:
Each player selected to the State Select team, per division, will pay a fee of $295.
Each player who is selected to the State Select team, per division, will receive the following items. Each item will be personalized with their state/regional logos:
1. Special home and away, numbered hockey jerseys
2. Hockey shell
3. Home and away socks
4. Baseball or knit cap
5. Polo shirt
6. Warm-up suit
7. Cold weather jacket
8. Surprise gift
These items will be delivered to the player’s home address prior to the tournament in Detroit. Each player is responsible for the safeguarding of product received.
Important Dates:
December 12, 2009: Regular Registration Deadline Ends at Midnight (CST).
January 20, 2010: Coaches registration closes at Midnight (CST).
January 20, 2010: Registration is closed.
January 20, 2010: Tryout information packets are delivered to players.
February 1, 2010: Tryouts begin around the country.
February 28, 2010: Tryouts are completed.
March 5, 2010: State/Regional Select Teams are announced.
March 9, 2010: Alternates are released.
April 1, 2010: The Mazamba Youth Hockey Tournament Series begins.
April 7, 2010: The Mazamba Youth Hockey Tournament Series ends.
April 8, 2010: The NCAA “Frozen Four” begins.
April 9, 2010: The Hobey Baker Memorial Award is announced.
April 10, 2010: The NCAA “Frozen Four” finals are played.
